In the beginning

GORDYUS was founded in the homeland of the Rubik’s cube, Hungary, in 2006. The two childhood friends, Mr. Attila Biletzky (Msc in Mechanical Engineering, enthusiastic for complex mechanisms) and Mr. Gergely Csepai (Msc in Economics, fond of luxury brands and mysteries) were touched with the legend of the cryptex that made its grand appearance in “The Da Vinci Code”. The cryptex is a cylindrical security device, said to be invented by Leonardo da Vinci, protected by a combination lock designed for keeping secret information secure. The founders believed that such a beautiful relic rich in mechanical amusements and cultural values should be a perfect gift for exceptional moments and a proper, elegant keeper of the family tree, memoirs, or foundation documents of companies.
